More top brass

Top platform assembled and mounted on the A-frames

Stages 5 & 6 – Ratio Traversing Crane kit

This is the point at which the kit starts to look like a crane. The replacement brass tread plate has been assembled onto the plate girder supports to create the top platform. This in turn is glued onto the two girder ‘A’ frames to form the crane’s basic structure.

A small amount of fettling was necessary, because the etched brass platform made the height slightly deeper. All in all though, it’s coming together. For me, being able to see through the platform makes all the difference.
